We are creatures of habit. We emphasize routines for our children, but for adults it is just as important. Yes, it is good to get out there and be spontaneous, but a daily routine helps us to maintain balance and harmony in our body and lives.
Ayurveda, a natural system of medicine and looking at our lives, emphasizes this through Dinacharya. Through this daily practice, we can allow our bodies to become more in tune with the cycle of natures, ourselves and identify what a healthy way of being is for us.
During this spring season, I have made it a focus to create a 30-minute daily routine that incorporates breathing, meditation, yoga and self-reflection. It does not always look perfect. Sometimes it is divided up into small segments of the day, but my day ALWAYS starts with breathwork for at least 5 minutes in the morning. I have determined that is the minimum in order for me to center myself and start my day. Daily routine is KEY for me.
What does a daily routine look like for you? It could be through grounding, yoga, taking a walk, listening to music while dancing or anything else that speaks to you that creates more space in your life.
